do not shift an automatic transmission manually unless it has a manual mode with the ‘+’ and ‘-’ designations. doing so will damage the transmission… trust me!
I have a 2010 Xd with the Manuel trans and pulled 55 mpg from it last week easy.

The xD has air bags coming out of every direction. It’s insanely safe for crashes. Another thing is that it looks small on the outside, but it has a lot of leg room in the back seats and passenger seats, obviously you’ll be able to adjust the front seat to your liking so I don’t think that’ll be a problem either.
I have this car.. the safety ratings are off the charts. It’s a tough little car. I love it.
well you really could just add an horsepower chip for more horse power just yahoo it or google hp chips and you can even look it up on youtube!
just check the crash test ratings. they are great. For a smaller car this holds up well. there maybe vids here on youtube with the crashes.
go get it! i’ve had my xd for more than 2 yrs and up until now im still inlove with it! its really fun to drive and the looks are cool (in my opinion).. as far safety, it has front, driver, and side curtains airbags STANDARD (unlike other competitors) ! so yea, its a package! ohh btw, i just drove my xD from NY to CA last week in 2 1/2 days, or 3000 miles of non-stop drive and guess what.. it survived! haha

i am also thinking about getting the xd but it seems to me that it is a little small my parents want me to have a durable car so in case i do get into a crash i will be safe if anyone can help me with this question it would be a HUGE help cause i really like this car

Debating to get this as my first car, this thing has everything I want, but I want more horsepower parts, and being a new car, that could be a problem.
I absolutely love my 2008 xd. My job requires a lot of driving and I love the comfort that it give me knowing I’m not riding in a fiberglass car! I’ve ran over a tire in my car and all it did was cut some lines underneath which my dealer fixed with no problem. handling was great in that situation and in everyone that i have come across which requires getting out of the way of crazy drivers. LOVE the mpg! Does have road noise, but i just crank up the music and sing along. will buy another one.

When you grow up, and finish the 8th grade, you might be able to save up enough welfare money to buy one yourself. Who knows, maybe when you grow up, your daddy will teach you how to steal one. 0 -60 in 9.7 seconds? Maybe if youre pulling a pop up camper. The Xd is way quicker than that. You need to do a YOU Tube search, and find out how actually fast these Xds are. They are closer to the low 8 second range, and if you install a free flowing exhaust and cold air intake, they will drop to the low 7 second range. They have an excellent head design for breathing.
Also, evidently Rudolph was not aware that the rear seat in the Scion Xd is fully adjustable, just like the front seats. Yes, the rear seat slide forward and backward for lots of legroom, even for adults over 6 feet all. Too bad you bought a nissan Rudolph, you’ll be sorry when you begin having valve-train problems…hope you got that extended warranty there buddy boy!
That is a very wierd gauge setup.
Almost got an xd…until I actually sat in one. The backseats in these things are seriously so small I don’t know how they even manage to sell. Even children would have a hard time getting in and out of the xd’s backseat. definitely not a good car for road trips.
I instead got an 09 nissan versa sl for very cheap. I am very happy with it.

Yep, they are a great little car, and big bang for the buck! Its also the 09 Corolla drive-train, if you folks out there don’t know that.
