Ingram Park Mazda Announces that the ‘SKYACTIV-G 1.3′ Engine Wins Award

improve mileage

San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) November 24, 2011

When it comes to new technology from Mazda, the team at Ingram Park Mazda know that the new Skyactiv technology is hot. As the premiere Mazda dealer in San Antonio, Texas, they have seen the excitement from consumers who learn how fuel efficient this engine can be in the city and on the highway.

The new SKYACTIV-G technology allows Mazda vehicles to receive even more miles per gallon without giving up on power or performance. The SKYACTIV-G 1.3 engine comes with the new Mazda Demio (known in the US market as the Mazda2). Automotive Researchers’ and Journalists’ Conference chairman, Hiroshi Fukunaga, recently announced the award. Mazda was able to beat out many other car companies.

SKYACTIV-G 1.3 allows the Mazda2 to achieve a high compression ratio of 14:1. It also has terrific efficiency. This is especially true with high load running at a low rpm. Knocking is a problem with new high-compression engines, but SKYACTIVE-G 1.3 has new technology that helps with this considerably. It has, for instance, piston cavities that were designed to support the ideal combustion. It also has multi-hole injectors that allow the Mazda2 with this engine to get more precise control over fuel injection.

By increasing compression ratio with the new SKYACTIV-G 1.3 engine, Mazda was able to improve thermal efficiency quite a bit. For example, the compression ratio of modern gasoline engines is typically around 10:1 to 12:1. So if you can increase this to 15:1, you can get a lot more thermal efficiency - which means better gas mileage without losing power or performance. This is one of the key reasons the new SKYACTIV engines are so wonderful.

Local residents who want to learn more about the Mazda2 with SKYACTIV-G technology or any of the other great new Mazda models should stop by Ingram Park Mazda. They are the leading Mazda dealership in San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas. Their sales team is professional and can answer any questions consumers might have about SKYACTIV. They can also set consumers up with a test drive so they can experience the zoom, zoom of Mazda for themselves. When it comes to buying a new or used Mazda in San Antonio, TX, Ingram Park is tough to beat.
